  5. What this tour is about: The lanes of Old Delhi are famous for the diversity of food on display. Savouries, snacks, biscuits, sweets, paneer, spices, vegetables and fruits – everything is available in Old Delhi. Many vendors have been in the same business for multiple generations and have built reputations on the basis of specialty dishes. The food also reflects the religious and social cuisine habits of various communities which make up Old Delhi. On this tour, you will not only see Old Delhi’s famous food, but also daily life in this colourful and chaotic part of the city. The tour is great fun for those interested in photography and street life.
We start the tour at Chawri Bazaar Metro Station, and walk through the Sitaram Bazaar area. This area has shops owned primarily by Hindu Bania merchants. The colourful and interesting street food in this market caters to the vegetarian preferences of this community. From Sitaram Bazaar, we will take cycle rickshaws and visit the famous Khari Baoli spice market. This is Asia's largest wholesale market selling all kinds of spices and nuts; it is also a wholesale market for food products like rice and tea. From Khari Baoli, we will again take a cycle rickshaw to visit the Sees Ganj Gurudwara. Here we will participate in the cooking of the langar, the community cooking program of the Sikhs. After Sees Ganj, we will walk through Chandni Chowk area, to visit Paranthe Wali Galli (Lane of Parathas) and a famous jalebi stall. The tour ends here, at Chandni Chowk.
